Daisy Webster
Daisy worked as part of a team to create a mood board which reflected all of the information they had learnt from the day and highlighted key areas of the store. Following from this Daisy worked as part of a team to create a display for a window using limited resources.
Daisy has a passion for fashion and wanted to put all her creative skills to use within a visual merchandising environment. After having a few interviews and getting some feedback from employers that they wanted some sort of background experience/knowledge within Visual Merchandising, Daisy decided to look for a course that would help her to fulfil her goal. After searching online she found the three day Visual merchandising course that we run at The Learning Shop.
Day one started on the 04/03/16 and on the first day the group shared with each other what they wanted from the course. Daisy’s goal was still the same and said that she wanted to gain knowledge of Visual Merchandising to help her to peruse her career.
Over the duration of the course Daisy and the rest of the group took part in various activities and tasks, covering topics such as:
- Theme
- Window displays
- Selling space
- Store layout
- Brief history of Visual Merchandising
- Store layouts
After just day 2 two of the course, Daisy went for an interview with Ted Baker in Covent Garden and taking with her, her new found knowledge of Visual Merchandising. On day three of the course Daisy was able to give us the amazing news that she got the job!! Filled with excitement and enthusiasm Daisy continued the course and was putting her skills to the test ready for her new job.
Daisy got a permanent 40 hours a week position and is currently working her way to senior sales following the start of her employment on the 29th of March. In this role Daisy will be able to explore the wonders of Visual Merchandising within store and is one huge step closer to becoming a full time VM.
“I have learnt so much from this course, it has really inspired me and given me the motivation to pursue my ambition as a VM. Very, very good”
After having a quick catch up with Daisy, she said she is loving her new job and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
