Pre-Employment course – November 2017
This in-depth training programme gives participants the necessary skills and traits to succeed in retail and customer service i.e. communication, self-confidence, motivation, teamwork, problem solving and many more.
This group began two weeks ago made up of individuals with varied backgrounds, levels of experience and confidence due to prolonged periods unsuccessfully looking for work. In most cases it took just two days with us for them to have gained enough confidence to engage with each other both one to one and group activities, share their own experiences and learn from one another. During the two week programme we have seen some outstanding improvements including a total of 10 job interviews for real vacancies in Bluewater center.
Our learners worked in groups of 3 to plan and build the highest structure using only marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti. The aim of this task was to encourage team-work and effective communication.
The Learning Shop team designed this programme to be informative and enjoyable; ensuring that each day combines both, theory and practical activities. Some of these practical activities aim to encourage independence whilst other activities to challenge their team-work skills.
